The Klein Law Group, P.C., has changed the names of clients in the following personal injury success stories to protect their privacy. Please contact our attorneys online or call our office in New York to speak with a lawyer if you have been injured in an accident involving negligence.

Our international staff speaks Polish, Spanish, Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese) and Russian.

C.M.

C.M. worked for a plumbing company at a construction site. He fell through plywood planks when a sidewalk collapsed, suffering serious multiple injuries, in particular to his back.

When no money came in to pay his bills, C.M. called a lawyer who was a friend of his family. That lawyer sent him to me, because of my reputation, going back thirty years, for aggressively and successfully fighting for the rights of injured workers.

I helped C.M. file a workers’ compensation case, and immediately began coordinating with one of the best personal injury attorneys in the city. However, C.M.’s workers’ compensation insurance company decided to fight the case. But our aggressive attack of the insurance company’s evidence convinced it to withdraw its controversy, and C.M. immediately began receiving his workers’ compensation paycheck, and all medical bills were paid.

Working with C.M.’s personal injury attorney, we were able to settle his personal injury claim for $400,000.00. But that’s not all. We were successful in negotiating a “global” settlement of both his workers’ compensation and personal injury cases. We had succeeded in winning approximately $260,000.00 in workers’ compensation benefits. The insurance company was entitled to be reimbursed approximately 2/3 of that out of C.M.’s personal injury recovery. However, the insurance company agreed to a substantial reduction of the money it would be reimbursed, leaving C.M. with a higher overall recovery in his global workers’ compensation/personal injury settlement.

Antonio Guerrero

Antonio Guerrero has settled his personal injury case for more than $1,100,000.00.While installing air conditioning ducts at a popular restaurant in Manhattan, Antonio fell from a ladder, injuring his ankle, neck, and back. One of our satisfied clients asked us to visit Antonio in the hospital. We did visit Antonio, and he asked us to represent him in his Workers’ Compensation case, and I also immediately called my Personal Injury Unit into action.

I was able to quickly secure Workers’ Compensation Benefits for Antonio while we were fighting his personal injury suit. We were successful in winning workers’ compensation benefits to be paid every week for a number of years, as well as payment of all of Antonio’s related medical bills. Finally, we succeeded in settling his case for $100,000.00.

But that was not all. The defendant in Antonio’s Personal Injury suit fought hard, but we were ultimately successful in bringing him a settlement of more than $1,100,000.00.

Nothing is more important to me than ensuring that New York’s working men and women, and their families, are fairly and justly compensated for injuries they sustain when they are at work and contributing to the economy of our state. It would be ideal if every employer maintained a safe place to work, and that no one was ever injured. But when the lives of innocent working people are tragically altered by workplace accidents, it makes me very grateful to be able to do my part to help them provide for their future.

Luke Simmons

Luke Simmons has settled his personal injury case for nearly $850,000.00.

Luke Simmons was working on a construction site when wooden molding for concrete fell, hitting Luke and injuring his head, neck, back, shoulder, and knees. Luke had heard of our reputation for tenacity in fighting for maximum value in court and in negotiation, and of our philosophy of treating our clients like family.

I immediately called my Personal Injury unit into action. At the same time, I succeeded in winning workers’ compensation benefits, so that Luke would have a source of income and medical treatment while my Personal Injury unit was developing his negligence case.

Now I’m happy to report that Luke has settled his case for $850,000.00. Jorge Medina

Jorge Medina has settled his personal injury case for $1,475,000.00.

Jorge Medina was a demolition worker on a construction site when construction debris fell on him, causing him to suffer multiple injuries. Jorge had heard of our reputation for tenacity in fighting for maximum value in court and in negotiation, and of our philosophy of treating our clients like family.

I immediately called my Personal Injury unit into action. At the same time, I succeeded in winning workers’ compensation benefits, so that Jorge would have a source of income and medical treatment while my Personal Injury unit was developing his negligence case.

Mario Baldacci

Mario Baldacci has settled his personal injury case for nearly $3,600,000.00.

Mario Baldacci, bricklayer, was working on a scaffold when the scaffold broke, causing Mario to suffer multiple injuries. Mario had heard of our reputation for tenacity in fighting for maximum value in court and in negotiation, and of our philosophy of treating our clients like family.

I immediately called my Personal Injury unit into action. At the same time, I succeeded in winning workers’ compensation benefits, so that Mario would have a source of income and medical treatment while my Personal Injury unit was developing his negligence case.

Now I’m happy to report that Maria has settled her case for nearly $3,600,000.00. In reaching this number, we were successful in persuading the workers’ compensation insurance company to agree to give up its right to take a fixed amount of money out of Mario’s personal injury settlement.

Rosa Esperanza

Rosa Esperanza has settled her case for more than $1,000,000.00.

A few years ago Rosa Esperanza, who worked for an asbestos removal contractor, fell while working on a scaffold. Rosa had previously been a client of our firm, so she was familiar with how hard, and how successfully, we fight for our clients.

When Rosa told me about her accident I immediately filed a workers’ compensation case for her, and called my Personal Injury unit into action. We succeeded in winning workers’ compensation benefits while developing Rosa’s personal injury case.

Now I’m happy to report that Rosa has settled her case for more than $1,000,000.00. In reaching this number, we were successful in persuading the workers’ compensation insurance company to agree to give up its right to take a fixed amount of money out of Rosa’s personal injury settlement, so the final settlement includes $750,000.00 from the defendant’s insurance company and more than $250,000.00 from the workers’ compensation insurance company as its “lien waiver.”

I’m proud that in coordinating Rosa’s workers’ compensation and personal injury cases we were able to make sure that she was fairly and justly compensated for her injury, and that she has enough money to return to a full and productive life.

Jorge Espinosa

With some of the $10 MILLION we were able to win for Jorge Espinosa, he has purchased a large car dealership and is now a businessman and entrepreneur.

At a construction site in Queens, Jorge Espinosa’s life changed forever. He was hit by falling roofing materials and his scaffold broke, sending him falling three stories.

While we were succeeding in having the Workers’ Compensation Board find that Jorge had a permanent total disability, our personal injury unit fought for him through a difficult trial and appeal. Finally, our expertise and aggression paid off, and the insurance companies were forced to pay Jorge $10 million.

No one can give Jorge Espinosa back the life he had before he innocently went to work for an employer that would not keep a safe workplace, but it gives us great satisfaction to know that we were able to ensure that he can again be the vital and productive man he was before his accident.

Pedro Delgado

With some of the $4 MILLION we were able to win for Pedro Delgado, he has purchased a 1,000-acre farm in Ecuador and is now a successful businessman and landowner.

While doing demolition in Yonkers, Pedro Delgado’s life changed forever. A large glass door flew out and shattered, smashing into his leg. Sadly, his leg was amputated below the knee.

As so often happens, his good friend was one of our old clients and told him about the great work we had done on his case. We immediately called our personal injury unit into action.

While we were succeeding in having the Workers’ Compensation Board award Pedro a weekly check and all necessary medical procedures and treatments, our personal injury unit fought for him until our expertise and aggression paid off, and Pedro settled his case for $4 million.

No one can restore Pedro Delgado’s leg or give him back the life he had before he innocently went to work for an employer that would not keep a safe workplace, but it gives us great satisfaction to know that we were able to help him buy his farm and to ensure that he can again be the vital and productive man he was before his accident.

Wieslaw Jakubowski

With some of the $2 MILLION we were able to win for Wieslaw Jakubowski, he has purchased a high-interest annuity and is planning to open his own business.

On the roof of a building under construction in Brooklyn, Wieslaw Jakubowski’s life changed forever. He plunged through an elevator shaft, sustaining serious injuries. While Wieslaw was in the hospital recovering, our personal injury unit went into action.

When he returned home, Wieslaw was not able to take care of his daily needs. We were able to arrange for his wife to be paid a substantial weekly salary by the workers’ compensation insurance company to give him full-time home care. Meanwhile, our personal injury attorneys learned that the work site was not fully insured. Nevertheless, with expertise and tenacity, we were able to settle Wieslaw’s case for $2 million.

No one can give Wieslaw Jakubowski back the life he had before he innocently went to work for an employer that would not keep a safe workplace, but it gives us great satisfaction to know that we were able to ensure that he can again be the vital and productive man he was before his accident.

F.R.

F.R. did maintenance work for a large real estate company. One day while working, he slipped on grease and fell as a result of an overflow of grease from a grease trap that was located in an area leased by a commercial tenant. He suffered severe injuries in multiple parts of his body, including his neck and back. The accident made him totally disabled and unable to work.

When no money came in to pay his bills, F.R. called a good friend who also happened to be my former client whose case I had fought and won. My former client told F.R. to call me at once, because of the great work that I had done fighting for him, and because of my reputation, going back thirty years, for aggressively and successfully fighting for the rights of injured workers.

I helped F.R. file a workers’ compensation case, and immediately began coordinating with one of the best personal injury attorneys in the city. My aggressive attack of the insurance company resulted in F.R. receiving his workers’ compensation paycheck, and all medical bills were paid, as well.

Working with F.R.’s personal injury attorney, we were able to settle his personal injury claim for $900,000.00. But that’s not all. We were successful in negotiating a “global” settlement of both his workers’ compensation and personal injury cases. We had succeeded in winning approximately $279,000.00 in workers’ compensation benefits.

The insurance company was entitled to be reimbursed approximately 2/3 of that out of F.R.’s personal injury recovery. However, the insurance company agreed to a very substantial reduction of the money it would be reimbursed, leaving F.R. with a higher overall recovery in his global workers’ compensation/personal injury settlement.

Carlos Acevedo

A few years ago, Carlos Acevedo, who worked for a Long Island City roofing company, called to tell us that he had injured his left ankle and leg after getting caught in a ladder, causing him to fall. He was concerned because his doctor warned him that he would need fusion surgery and was likely to develop permanent arthritis.

Our personal injury unit immediately went into action. At the same time, we succeeded in winning workers’ compensation benefits, so that Carlos would have a source of income and medical treatment while our personal injury unit was developing his negligence case.

Now we are happy to report that Carlos has settled his case for $2,500,000. We are proud, too, that in coordinating his workers’ compensation and personal injury cases, we were able to make sure that Carlos is fairly compensated for his injury and that he has enough money to return to a full and productive life.

Fernanda Mercado

Fernanda Mercado has settled her personal injury case for One Million Dollars.

Fernanda was working at a construction site in Manhattan when her ladder fell out from under her and she fell, suffering multiple injuries, mainly to her legs and feet.

When Fernanda called me I immediately filed a workers’ compensation case, so that she could receive a weekly benefit check, and so all her medical expenses would be paid for. I also introduced her at once to my Personal Injury unit, where we immediately began to investigate the circumstances of her accident and the extent of her injuries.

Both the workers’ compensation and the personal injury insurance companies came after Fernanda hard, as usual doing everything they could to keep her from succeeding in both her cases. However, we were successful in winning continuing workers’ compensation benefits for Fernanda, at the same time that we aggressively pursued her personal injury case.

Now I’m happy to report that after much negotiation Fernanda has settled her personal case for One Million Dollars. I’m proud that in coordinating her workers’ compensation and personal injury cases we were able to make sure that Fernanda was fairly compensated for her injuries, and that she has enough money to return to a full and productive life.
