Ready To Go Back To Work? Worried About Your SSD Benefits?
Many people with disabilities want to work. The Social Security Administration (SSA) recognizes the obstacles that may prevent benefit recipients from taking the plunge and returning to work. Many worry that their benefits could be cut off if the SSA determines that they are no longer disabled. Others worry about losing health insurance. In addition, some worry that they may discover that they are not well enough or strong enough to fulfill the responsibilities of a job.
The SSA addresses these concerns with incentives to work including the Ticket to Work program. The Klein Law Group, P.C., can help answer your questions and concerns related to returning to work after first receiving Social Security Disability benefits. Call or email us to schedule a consultation.
About The Ticket To Work Program
In the past, the Social Security Administration (SSA) provided free job retraining services for people with disabilities. The SSA wanted to encourage disabled people to get on their feet sooner rather than later. Today, the Ticket to Work program is designed to facilitate the same objective. The Ticket program helps recipients of Social Security Disability (SSD) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) get help finding work, vocational rehabilitation and more. Employment networks providing these opportunities may be private organizations or government agencies that agree to collaborate with Social Security, offering employment services and support to people with disabilities.
To take part in the Ticket to Work program while receiving SSD or SSI benefits, you will select an employment network or state vocational rehabilitation agency to work with. During the time that you are working with a selected network or agency, the SSA will not review your medical condition as that agency normally does from time to time.
