We recently represented the owner of a trucking/delivery company. A driver claimed to suffer serious injuries while employed by our client. However, our trucking/delivery client had a contract with a larger company, which made us no more than a contractor of the larger company where all workers were concerned.
After trial testimony, the workers’ compensation judge stated that our client was not responsible for any of the injuries sustained by the worker; instead, the larger company was fully responsible. We succeeded in relieving our client of all responsibility and all penalties in this workers’ compensation case.
