Any lawyer can buy a big website with all the fancy bells and whistles – but can the lawyer deliver what he says he can?
If you had an accident, you only have one case, and that case can make or break your future.
It’s important to remember that a lawyer’s website may say he handles workers’ compensation cases, but you owe it to yourself and your family to dig a lot deeper. Many lawyers “handle workers’ comp,” but they all have different experience, credentials and priorities.
Is a lawyer right for your case?
If a site appeals to you, ask that lawyer several very important questions:
- Do you handle workers’ compensation cases yourself or in your own firm—or do you refer those cases to an outside firm?
- How many workers’ compensation cases do you personally handle?
- What percentage of your law practice do you personally devote to workers’ compensation cases?
- For how many years have you been experienced in workers’ compensation cases?
When you ask these questions, you may get a big surprise, compared to what is in the lawyer’s website. You might still decide to hire that lawyer, but you will now know that you did everything you could to make a truly informed decision for yourself, your future, and your family.
