Construction sites and crane accidents

A construction site is full of many types of equipment, all of which are supposed to make life easier on workers. Unfortunately, there are times when equipment, such as a crane, leads to more harm than good.

As a construction worker, you may find yourself operating a crane at some point. Even if you aren’t the one using the crane, you may still be in close proximity.

There are many types of cranes. For example, mobile and tower cranes are among the most common on construction sites. There are times when both of these are extremely dangerous, such as when it’s being loaded.

With so many risks, it’s imperative for crane operators to receive the necessary training. Without this, there is a greater chance of an accident.

At our law firm, we continue to realize that crane accidents in New York City remain commonplace. While these don’t always result in injury or death, there is the possibility that this could happen. Over the years, we have helped many injured construction workers protect their legal rights after suffering an injury.

If you ever suffer an on-the-job injury, such as in a crane accident, don’t hesitate to receive medical attention and notify your employer of what went wrong. This will put you in better position to receive workers’ compensation benefits in the future.

In the event of a workers’ compensation denial, don’t give up. The appeals process can be detailed, but moving through it in an orderly fashion will allow you to feel positive about your ability to eventually receive benefits.
