In just a short period of time, our Partner, Darren Rumack, has settled several Wage & Hour cases against employers who refused to pay our clients a legal wage, and who refused to pay proper overtime, and who were guilty of other violations. The following names are changed for the privacy of our clients:
Ricardo O: Ricardo worked as a dishwasher for three years, but his boss refused to pay him overtime. When we threatened to sue, his employer capitulated at once.
Horacio M & Others: Horacio and four of his friends worked together in a busy restaurant. They were bullied and abused by the head chef, who made them work two to four hours a week of unpaid overtime. The attorneys for the restaurant capitulated without our having to file a law suit.
Luis A: Luis was a construction worker who did demolition and general labor. He worked six days a week and more than forty hours a week. However, his employer refused to pay him for his overtime. We filed a formal complaint in federal court, and his employer approached us to settle the case.
Jian W: Jian delivered food on his bicycle for a busy Manhattan restaurant. His employer failed to notify him of his tip credit, and the employer failed to keep proper pay records. We filed a law suit, and Jian’s employer approached us to settle the case.
We are proud of the work of our Partner, Darren Rumack, in continuing our tradition of fighting for the rights of New York’s working men and women.
